TESTIMONIALS • Lucas Lepri Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

“We learned of Lucas Lepri Jiu-Jitsu from a friend who had never attended the academy. After our first class, my husband, a 30 year veteran of high school wrestling, turned to me and said: “This will be the best money we ever spend.” My husband and I are teachers with a combined 40 years of teaching under our belts at a local Charlotte school. We know great teachers when we see them. The coaches at Lucas Lepri BJJ have amazed us with their ability to lead and instruct with quiet confidence and a command for respect. We admire the coaches’ ability to combine conditioning, technique, safety, sparring and fun all while teaching about humility and teamwork. I have watched my sons grow under the disciplined, intentional instruction of the coaches, and I know that had I had a girl, she would be here too. We are delighted to be a part of the Lucas Lepri BJJ family , as it has become an instrumental part of our children’s development. As our sons Mac and Theo say, “The coaches are nice and patient, but they also make us respect them.”

“Lucas Lepri Brazilian Jiu-jitsu & Fitness is a gift to Charlotte. I have studied martial arts in my past, but Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is by far the most effective, the most challenging, and the most rewarding. Nothing else makes me this excited and fit.  On top of it, Lucas Lepri is a 6-time world champion and a very inspiring person to learn from. It is a privilege to learn from the best in the word.  The Academy has a clean, open, respectful and friendly feel. Everybody there is very helpful and nice.  If you don’t join the Lucas Lepri Academy, you are missing out on a great opportunity!”

Lucas Lepri Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Fitness has truly become a home away from home for us. In the beginning, we were interested in learning a new martial art and doing the same for our children. We had no idea at the time that this journey would lead to so many new friendships with people from all walks of life. The academy goes far beyond jiu-jitsu and fitness. It’s a place we go to for laughter and good vibes. A place we always leave in a better mood than when we arrived. The positive, encouraging environment is contagious and it starts at the top with professor Lucas Lepri. Lucas treats every single person in that academy, from the newest white belt with no martial arts experience to the most decorated athletes in our sport, with the same level of respect. We would highly recommend anyone to give jiu-jitsu a try at Lucas Lepri Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and you won’t be disappointed.

“Positive atmosphere, clean environment, world-class training and great people! Lucas and his staff are consummate professionals when it comes to teaching. Not only does Lucas teach every class, but also takes the time to know each student (from child to adult). There’s something at LL for everyone…from the casual BJJ practitioner, to the world championship competitor, to the person seeking to get in better shape. It’s all there in an amazing environment with zero egos! We’re very fortunate to have Lucas in Charlotte and even more fortunate that we’ve taken the step to train with the best!”

We started training at Lepri BJJ over a year ago and we’re so happy with our choice. While choosing a new gym upon moving, Rick and I were looking for a professional, clean facility that would provide top level training and we found it! The atmosphere is inviting, the staff is helpful and the members are friendly. Good vibes at this gym start from the top, Lucas spreads his enthusiasm and work ethic with a smile on his face. Whether you’re looking to compete on a world stage or get in shape, there is a place for you at Lepri BJJ.

“My husband and our 2 kids Aiden and Miles train at Lucas Lepri Bjj academy. We could not imagine a better place to learn. It is amazing to be train by the best and caring coaches. All the coaches do a fantastic job in displaying the techniques and making sure you are executing the finer points. Also they always find time to work one on one with each and every student in academy. While learning Brazilian Jui Jitsu ,our boys learned respect, discipline and how to be apart of amazing team. Like Lucas always says “ No one walks alone” . We can not wait until our youngest one will be old enough to join this amazing journey. We would not have it any other way.”

“Lucas Lepri Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Fitness holds a special place in our household. It provides a fun, family-friendly activity we can all share. Since we have been training here we have become close friends with our teammates who make the environment feel like a big extended family. The staff and coaches are exceptionally respectful, cordial, and great ambassadors for the jiu jitsu community. Each coach takes a genuine interest in our family on and off the mats. The instruction we receive at Lucas Lepri Brazilian JiuJitsu & Fitness is world class. The instructors are all highly accomplished, and this displays itself in their ability to explain, demonstrate, and execute techniques. Instructors always place their attention on details that will make you more successful – whether you are a beginner or highly advanced. The gym itself is very high quality and well maintained. Whether you are simply looking for a great workout in a positive, encouraging environment or to test your skills against world champions, you will not find a better place in the greater Charlotte area.”

“I can honestly say that starting to train here a little over a year ago has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for both me and my family.  After taking trials at a few local schools, I chose LL because the instructors are enthusiastic, detailed, and patient, the facilities are clean and well-organized, and the other members are incredibly welcoming and friendly. BJJ is challenging, yet Lucas and Fred break down the techniques into manageable steps and explain why the details are important.  In addition, the more experienced teammates (upper-belts) are quick to help you improve and encourage you to challenge yourself.  The result is a safe but competitive learning environment where everyone brings out the best in each other.  This isn’t an accident- Lucas sets the the tone for the school.  Despite being one of the world’s best combat athletes, he is easy-going, approachable, and genuinely cares about the development of his students. My 6-year old son started recently and he really enjoys it.  With sometimes as many as five to six instructors on the mat, the level of attention and instruction for the kids classes is unparalleled.   I can see him developing new skills each class, and I love the time that we get to spend together practicing.”

“Having been fortunate enough to visit gyms around the world I can say without doubt that you won’t find many gyms like Lucas Lepri BJJ and Fitness. This gym finds an incredible balance in the level of technical mastery through instruction, an intense level of competitive drive and eagerness of success in the students, yet maintains an exceptionally warm and inviting atmosphere that makes everyone feel a part of a family in training here. Not many gyms possess all of these qualities and so we’re very fortunate to have such a gem here in Charlotte. “

“My 3 boys, Caleb, Cole, Cruz and my husband, train at LL BJJ. There is a great sense of belonging and friendship. Not only are my children training under Professor Lepri and several other Champion instructors, they are learning life skills as well. Humility, discipline, and learning that it takes hard work and commitment to achieve their goals are some of the lifelong attributes being instilled. I am repeatedly taken back by the instructors strong moral character, their love for the sport, and the care and patience they have with the students.”

A true professional in his craft, Lucas Lepri has demonstrated such meticulous detail in his teachings. He is very patient, clear and shows exactly why he is ranked the best in the world. He is able to develop the game of any individual to accommodate their needs. He has helped me develop my game and increase my skills at the black belt level, and it has shown. Friendly on and off the mat, Lucas is a work horse, training with all his students and guiding them to success. Having the privilege to train with Lucas Lepri, I have seen him develop his knowledge and maintain the level he is at, while teaching, coaching, training and preparing for his major competitions. If you have the opportunity to train with Lucas Lepri, it would only benefit you and change your outlook on the true skill and mindset of becoming a champion!

Not too many kids get a chance to learn directly from a black belt, but here at Alliance Atlanta we were very fortunate to have multiple world champion Lucas Lepri teach the kids’ classes for the past 3 yrs. During this time our son Noah – who is now 8 yrs old – developed solid skills for self defense and competition. He looked forward to class because it was not only challenging but fun which is important to kids. And winning gold medals in various competitions was only the icing on the cake. We’d like to give big thanks to Lucas Lepri for his years of expert instruction and to his wife Mayara Lepri for being a kind, welcoming friend to all of us. Thank you, we wish you all the best.  We will miss you!

I had the privilege of training with Lucas Lepri for 3+ years. It’s easy to say that my jiu jitsu grew the most with Lucas during those 3 years. Lucas helped me win the World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships in 2009 (blue) and 2011 (purple). Lucas is a very detailed instructor who takes the time out to make sure you are doing the technique perfectly. Lucas is not only a great instructor but a wonderful person who makes everyone feel welcome. I would recommend everyone to try a class with Lucas and I can promise that you will have a great time and learn a lot.

C. Visentin, Brown belt (2009 blue belt World Champion, 2011 purple belt World Champion)

Lucas is a rarity in martial arts: a superlative individual competitor who is also a gifted and dedicated instructor. His style of jiu jitsu is incredibly well-rounded and efficient and can be emulated by students of any age, size, or experience level. Training with Lucas is a unique opportunity – don’t miss out!

This saying gets thrown around a lot, but Lucas Lepri really is a champion on and off the mats. Hands down one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to be around and one of the hardest workers in the sport. I have nothing but great things to say about him as an instructor and a person.

C. Moran, Brown Belt

I trained under Lucas Lepri in Atlanta for several years. I have had the honor and pleasure to call Lucas Lepri my professor. He is an outstanding instructor and his jiu jitsu is very straight-forward, anyone can follow his movements and his lessons. Lucas Lepri is a true champion and puts as much heart into the success of his students as in his own world championships. I took a block of private lessons with Lucas and it was one of the best investments I could make for my development – it really helped me turn a corner and get to another level in my training and awareness. I still have much to learn but I am grateful for the strong foundation I have developed in working with Lucas. I hope to have the opportunity to continue my development with Lucas someday.

Brian Levine, Purple Belt, 2011 Masters Pan Am Champion

Lucas has been one of the best jiu jitsu practitioners/trainers that I have ever trained with. I have been training for several years and with my travels have had the opportunity to train with several “big” names in the art. Lucas sets himself apart from all these, showing the latest innovative techniques and making them easy to understand. I was fortunate enough to conduct several private lessons with Lucas and the biggest compliment that I would receive would be from other guys in the gym. After working with him just a few sessions, guys would compliment my new found game. It’s a great honor to say that I have shared the mat with this World Champion and an even greater honor that I can call him my friend. Thanks Lucas, for the knowledge!
